I disapprove of how our society is decaying when it comes down to science and sexual immorality. I am a person who grew up with Christian values and my faith is strong in the word. It is not my place to judge another person know I have my own battles I am dealing with. But when it comes down to “Sex Change operations” I have to speak up. I totally disagree with such a thing being allowed. If you are a gay person and want to live an alternative live that is your business and you should find another person who is will to be with you. In this day and age cosmetic surgery has made it possible for people who are born male to change to female and vise versa. I just think that is deceit, I mean look at today’s daytime talk shows. The main theme of Maury Povich was “guess what sex am I “many people were cheering and clapping for these transvestites. Many might take this as a hate letter but it is not. I just do not want to see the morale decay ruin good values. Think about it, you are deceiving the man or woman that you are dating which is a lie, which then build up anti trust and can lead to murder. Since the decision is up to the individual I can only voice my opinion and left the Creator of heaven and earth judge. To all men out there I say on the first date ask to see a birth certificate. To those who love end time stories from the book of Revelations this is the precursor to the government placing id chips in us to determine who we are and in turn the mark of the beast. To those who choose to fight for all to have the freedom to choose, I ask how far is too far? To all I ask where are we heading and how fast are we getting there?
Q-It seem like the love is no longer on the earth why is this happening?
A-“Everything has its season a time for war, time to sow, time for peace, and a time to reap.
Q-The people cry out with fear of famine and their neighbors ignore them who will help when we all have our own problems?
A-Ask and it will be given to you, Seek and you will find, Knock and the door will be opened. The Arcanum is ASK!
Q-Lies and deception seems to be a daily practice in this day and age we need direction I can’t trust no one I am filled with worry what can I do?
A-Be happy young man in while you are young and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow your heart and know that all these things will be brought into judgment.
Q-May people believe their faith is the right one how can I make sure I am on the right path?
A-Psalm 32:8“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you”.
Q- I want a wife a successful career that will benefit all I encounter positively.
A- luke 30-For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. 32"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Excuse me Miss Jezebel this will just take a minute although I am not one to judge but I felt compelled to share this psychoanalysis. It feels like shinny things make your heart sing and it seems that the paper that is green is your only means of happiness. You a honey bee about to turn queen watching the men work around the clock to build you colony. You tell them everything forgetting about a little thing called honesty. You say at the age of twenty three you can’t stand a man who’s childish at thirty three you want one who is nineteen. Who knew you missed the hunt I guess it was really fun. You morphed from a sexy little kitten to a cougar and no longer keep in contact with the guys who knew you because you afraid the will expose the truth. You are the product of a misguided youth stepdad did something he shouldn’t I can’t believe the police still don’t have a warrant. I guess the best kept secrets aren’t always kept silent we all know that mom was violent. That is no excuse to lay with man just to make rent. You left a house of pain just to remain sane. Look at what you became some guy gave you aids last month can you remember his name?
this is where one can test his/her faith. What do you believe?
Ancient tablet's text triggers a debate Hebrew writing seems to be about a messiah who rises from the dead
By ETHAN BRONNER THE NEW YORK TIMES Published Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 9:40 p.m. Last updated Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 9:40 p.m.
JERUSALEM — - A 3-foot-tall tablet with 87 lines of Hebrew that scholars believe dates from the decades just before the birth of Jesus is causing a quiet stir in biblical and archaeological circles, especially because it may speak of a messiah who will rise from the dead after three days.
If such a messianic description really is there, it will contribute to a developing re-evaluation of both popular and scholarly views of Jesus, because it suggests that the story of his death and resurrection was not unique but part of a recognized Jewish tradition at the time.
The tablet, probably found near the Dead Sea in Jordan, according to some scholars, is a rare example of a stone with ink writings from that era -- in essence, a Dead Sea Scroll on stone. It is written, not engraved, across two neat columns, similar to columns in a Torah. But the stone is broken and some of the text is faded, meaning that much of what it says is open to debate.
Still, its authenticity has so far faced no challenge, so its role in helping to understand the roots of Christianity in the devastating political crisis faced by the Jews of the time seems likely to grow.
Daniel Boyarin, a professor of Talmudic culture at the University of California at Berkeley, said that the stone was part of a growing body of evidence suggesting that Jesus could be best understood through a close reading of the Jewish history of his day.
"Some Christians will find it shocking -- a challenge to the uniqueness of their theology -- while others will be comforted by the idea of it being a traditional part of Judaism," Boyarin said.
Given the highly charged atmosphere surrounding all Jesus-era artifacts and writings, both in the general public and in the fractured and fiercely competitive scholarly community, as well as the concern over forgery and charlatanism, it will probably be some time before the tablet's contribution is fully assessed. It has been about 60 years since the Dead Sea Scrolls were uncovered, and they continue to generate enormous controversy regarding their authors and meaning.
The scrolls, documents found in the Qumran caves of the West Bank, contain some of the only known surviving copies of biblical writings from before the first century A.D. In addition to quoting from key books of the Bible, the scrolls describe a variety of practices and beliefs of a Jewish sect at the time of Jesus.
How representative the descriptions are and what they tell us about the era are still strongly debated. For example, a question that arises is whether the authors of the scrolls were members of a monastic sect or in fact mainstream.
Oddly, the stone is not really a new discovery. It was found about a decade ago and bought from a Jordanian antiquities dealer by an Israeli-Swiss collector who kept it in his Zurich home. When an Israeli scholar examined it closely a few years ago and wrote a paper on it last year, interest began to rise.
"I couldn't make much out of it when I got it," said David Jeselsohn, the owner, who is himself an expert in antiquities. "I didn't realize how significant it was until I showed it to Ada Yardeni, who specializes in Hebrew writing, a few years ago. She was overwhelmed. 'You have got a Dead Sea Scroll on stone,' she told me."
Much of the text, a vision of the apocalypse transmitted by the angel Gabriel, draws on the Old Testament, especially the prophets Daniel, Zechariah and Haggai. The expression "Thus said the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel" appears many times, as does the name Jerusalem.
Back to Story - Help Astronomers find batch of "super-Earths" Mon Jun 16, 7:53 AM ET
European researchers said on Monday they discovered a batch of three "super-Earths" orbiting a nearby star, and two other solar systems with small planets as well.
They said their findings, presented at a conference in France, suggest that Earth-like planets may be very common.
"Does every single star harbor planets and, if yes, how many?" asked Michel Mayor of Switzerland's Geneva Observatory. "We may not yet know the answer but we are making huge progress towards it," Mayor said in a statement.
The trio of planets orbit a star slightly less massive than our Sun, 42 light-years away towards the southern Doradus and Pictor constellations. A light-year is the distance light can travel in one year at a speed of 186,000 miles a second, or about 6 trillion miles.
The planets are bigger than Earth -- one is 4.2 times the mass, one is 6.7 times and the third is 9.4 times.
They orbit their star at extremely rapid speeds -- one whizzing around in just four days, compared with Earth's 365 days, one taking 10 days and the slowest taking 20 days.
Mayor and colleagues used the High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher or HARPS, a telescope at La Silla observatory in Chile, to find the planets.
More than 270 so-called exoplanets have been found. Most are giants, resembling Jupiter or Saturn. Smaller planets closer to the size of Earth are far more difficult to spot.
None can be imaged directly at such distances but can be spotted indirectly using radio waves or, in the case of HARPS, spectrographic measurements. As a planet orbits, it makes the star wobble very slightly and this can be measured.
"With the advent of much more precise instruments such as the HARPS spectrograph ... we can now discover smaller planets, with masses between 2 and 10 times the Earth's mass," said Stephane Udry, who also worked on the study.
The team also said they found a planet 7.5 times the mass of Earth orbiting the star HD 181433 in 9.5 days. This star also has a Jupiter-like planet that orbits every three years.
Another solar system has a planet 22 times the mass of Earth, orbiting every four days, and a Saturn-like planet with a 3-year period.
"Clearly these planets are only the tip of the iceberg," said Mayor.
"The analysis of all the stars studied with HARPS shows that about one third of all solar-like stars have either super-Earth or Neptune-like planets with orbital periods shorter than 50 days."
